Application Review and Approval Framework

To ensure fairness, consistency, and integrity in all assistance decisions, the Gentle Journey Foundation uses a structured review framework when evaluating applications submitted through the Gentle Journey Foundation Relocation Assistance Application.

Each application is reviewed with careful attention to the applicant’s circumstances, level of need, and alignment with the Foundation’s humanitarian mission.

1. Eligibility Qualification

Verification that the applicant meets the minimum program requirements, including age, veteran status (if applicable), and relocation necessity.

2. Level of Need

Assessment of the applicant’s current situation, including:

Medical necessity

Financial hardship

Lack of family or caregiver support

Urgent or unsafe living conditions

Higher priority is given to individuals facing immediate or critical relocation challenges.

3. Humanitarian Impact

Evaluation of how Foundation assistance will improve the applicant’s safety, stability, dignity, and overall well-being. This includes consideration of:

Transition to safer housing

Access to medical care

Reuniting with family support

Improving quality of life

4. Alignment with Foundation Mission

Consideration of how the applicant’s situation aligns with the Gentle Journey Foundation’s commitment to serving elderly individuals and veterans with compassion, dignity, and respect.

5. Resource Availability and Program Capacity

Approvals are also based on current program availability, scheduling capacity, and available Foundation resources at the time of review.

Applications are categorized into the following review outcomes:

Priority Approval

Applicant meets all criteria and demonstrates significant or urgent need.

Standard Approval

Applicant meets eligibility criteria and qualifies for assistance based on 

program availability.

Deferred / Waitlist Status

Applicant qualifies but assistance may be scheduled based on future availability.

Ineligible

Applicant does not meet minimum eligibility requirements at this time.

The Gentle Journey Foundation recognizes that every situation is unique. In extraordinary humanitarian circumstances, exceptions may be granted at the discretion of Foundation leadership.
